Resin Casting How-To
I keep promising an update, but then getting a bunch of orders, spending all my time getting things shipped and not getting my updates done. Sorry if you've been waiting around, new things are coming, just as soon as I can finish getting them done.

However, I've posted something awesome for my friends. I've written up instructions to make this:

It's a cast resin light with LEDs in it to form the shape of a constellation. I know a lot of my friends have expressed an interest in learing resin casting, and this would be a great way to learn. It looks a bit intimidating, but it really is something you could do without much experience.

While you're there you should also check out these:

Here's the thing:
I'm competing for some glory, equipment and pride on that site. Your clicks, reposts, blog entries, or any other promotion is VERY appreciated. If you are a member or choose to become one your positive ratings and positive comments are also very helpful. Winning the contest involved would allow me to do a whole bunch of jewelry give-aways and other assorted fun things. If you do re-post or promote this let me know (sending an email to luster at lusterstudio.com would be the best way!)

Thank you so much for your support and I hope you'll give one of my projects a try!

Wow! That looks super cool. Great job! I loved your other tutorial too! (the wax/computer parts painting).

Keep up the good job!

Thanks. I really like the painting, and I'm planning to do more similar paintings (to kind of all go together). Someday. When the world is nearing an end, money no longer has value, no one is going to work, and everyone is just fending for themselves. That's right, my dystopic future involves me painting.

*hugs*

You. Are. AMAING!
I have always wanted to try LEDs in Resin (or perhaps one of those mini keychain photo displays?) but I am so lazy. Super super super cool.

Thanks baby! I'd been kicking around LEDs + resin for a while, too. It's really not too hard, and you probably have a lot of what you need already. The real trick is figuring out where to put the batteries, and that you really need 6v to run most LEDs but most coin cells are 3v. The double battery is the thing that makes stuff bulky most. Either way if you start working on something and have troubles let me know - I've probably already had to figure out a solution ;-)
